Explore Mindoro
Mindoro is the seventh-largest island in the Philippines. Mina de Oro which means gold mine from where the island got its current name. The island was divided into its two provinces Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro. Occidental Mindoro has 11 municipalities; Abra de Ilog, Santa Cruz, Calintaan, Looc, Lubang, Magsaysay, Paluan, Rizal, Sablayan, San Jose and Mamburao as the capital of Occidental Mindoro while Oriental Mindoro has 9 municipalities; Bulalacao, Mansalay, Roxas, Bongabong, Bansud, Gloria, Pinamalayan, Victoria and Calapan as its capital.
There are two ways to get there, through bus and ship and the easier and convenient way to people lessen the time in consuming to the trip is to take commercial planes. It’s just few years after commercial planes were there.  The principal language in Mindoro is Tagalog, although in some parts it has been greatly influenced by the native Visayan and Mangyan languages. Mindoro is also home to the Tamaraw or Mindoro dwarf buffalo which is endemic to the island. Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro have mountains, rivers, hills, valleys, wide plains and some small fresh water lakes. The major attractions of Occidental Mindoro are its three offshore islands - Ambulong, Ilin, and White Island of San Jose. Sablayan is also a favorite jump-off point to the world-class diving site Apo Reef Marine Park. And the very well know Puerto Galera which its famous beach with its sand as fine as the sand of Boracay. And not to mention the well-known Mangyan of Mindoro, an ethnic group of the province who portrays the simple and traditional way of living in the province. They were usually stay at the mountainous side of the area and only go down when they need something to buy or pay a visit to someone. There are some civilized Mangyan but most of them continue to live as what they’ve practice. Mindoro has rich views with tempting and delicious foods to enjoy as you pay visit to this province. Visitors and travellers will be well entertained by the Mindoreneos. Try to escape from the noise and polluted city and embrace the cold and modest but enjoyable experience offered on you by the province of Mindoro.
