The story is set in the Northern Provinces of the Philippines. The story is a mix of adventure and romance with exciting and unpredictable outcomes. The story revolves around Lam-Ang who is a very extraordinary guy. This epic is well known because of the unusual events happened and the good thing is it shows the culture and beliefs of the characters.

Lam-Ang is very unusual character in the story. He started to talk at a very young age and was the one who choose his own name. His adventure began when his father, Don Juan, went to a battle but never came back. Lam-Ang is a brave person, as what her mother told her when he asked her permission to let him find his father. He faced uncounted numbers of Igorots for his father who killed by those Igorots. As all the Igorots fell down and one tattooed Igorots was left unharmed. Brutal and inhumane deed he does to end the life of the Igorot; he slashed at his mouth, his eyes, cut off his ears, arms and legs. He then let him loose, the tattooed Igorot who received no mercy at his hands in order to show his revenge.He is also a great pursuer to get the hand of the maiden name Ines whom he loves so much even his life is in risk and until he pass away. The maiden caught her attention to the brave man when he house fall and back again and the most trail he do was to catch a fish rarang to prove his love to his wife. A man with that courage to bid his life is such a worthy feeling to his woman. Pursuing a woman and give her a life she wanted is one of the challenges of man at past time to get the approval of her parents or guardian. And no doubt, at the end they live happily ever after.  Lam-Ang is a brilliant one because when he visualize that he will going to caught dead by the by the shark tioan-tioan.Lam-Ang decided to tell his dream to his loving wife that he will be eaten by the shark and gave him signs; the stairs shall dance, the kitchen shall collapse, the stove shall break to pieces. But with the help of the rooster and the diver Marcos locate Lam-Ang’s bones to renew his life. In order not his wife gets into deep sorrow, he thought of that brilliant idea.
